How do I book a tour?
Book online in a few clicks — the Book button on any tour page opens our live calendar. Prefer to talk it through first? Message us on WhatsApp and a human will sort it with you.
Can I cancel or change my booking?
Yes — free cancellation up to 24 hours before your tour. [Jeff to confirm the exact cancellation and rescheduling policy wording.]
How do I pay?
Card payment is handled securely online when you book. Bring a little cash or a card for an optional lunch stop on the day. [Jeff to confirm accepted payment methods.]
Is there a minimum age or number of people?
Group tours are built for adults and children aged 10 and up. For younger children, a private tour lets us shape the day around them. [Jeff to confirm any minimum booking numbers.]
On the day
Do you pick up from my hotel?
Yes — hotel and holiday-rental pick-up and drop-off across the Funchal area is included, free of charge. We don't currently pick up outside Funchal. Cruise guests: see the cruise questions below.
How big are the groups?
Small — a maximum of 6 guests per Land Rover. It's the rule we've kept since day one, so the day can flex around the group rather than a coach timetable.
What should I bring and wear?
Comfortable shoes, layers (you'll go from warm coast to a cold, often misty summit in one day), sunscreen, a hat, water, and a camera or phone. A warm jacket is the thing guests most often wish they'd packed.
Are the tours physically demanding?
Most of the day is spent in the jeep with short optional walks to viewpoints. [Jeff to confirm accessibility and any mobility considerations so we can answer this precisely.]
What languages do your guides speak?
Tours are guided in English by island-born guides. [Jeff to confirm which other languages are available.]
Weather & what to expect
What happens if the weather is bad?
Madeira's weather changes hour by hour and side to side — that's the whole reason our tours work. Your guide reads conditions every morning and moves the route to wherever the island is at its best. Tours run rain or shine.
Will I definitely see the sunrise / sunset?
A clear sunrise or sunset can never be promised anywhere, but your guide picks the timing and spot that give it the best possible chance — and cloud often makes for the most dramatic photos rather than ruining them.
Do tours run all year round?

Cruise visitors
Can you collect us from the cruise port?
Yes — we pick up at the Funchal cruise terminal for a small fee, and build the day around your all-aboard time. On cruise days we run our private and sunset tours. See the Cruise page for the full details. [Fee and meeting point — Jeff to confirm.]
What if our ship is delayed?
